Default Any new news on DSG on B7 Quattros - Already STFA

Hey all! I'm a current B5 owner that is waiting for the opportunity for a B7. Only thing is, I don't want a Slip-Tronic and I'm not sure if I can go with another manual (wife doesn't do stick shift and I won't teach her). I'd love to get a B7 with the DSG but when I STFA I found that the B8 will have it. Any news out there on DSG hitting the B7?

TIA and happy holidays.

Default Not until they can figure out how to make it fit together

They can fit the DSG with engines mounted in a transverse configuration, such as the A3 and TT, but not with the A4 as it's longitudinal today

Default Check out the A3 3.2

Its got DSG, quattro, and its relatively similar in size to your B5 if that size suits you.

Default Yeah, as far as i know its an issue of space. Both the quattro and dsg systems take up a lot of...

space in the car/platform so getting them both in there is tricky.

I thought it was a issue of the load the DSG can take - a heavy car is too much for it right now.

Default Its worth test driving an A3 just to see what we're missing...

I test drove both A3 and A4. The DSG is a amazing...but in the end I wanted quattro (with a 2.0). The possibility for DSG in the A4 is the primary reason I did a 24 month lease. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it becomes available.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 has 800 to 900 HP, V16 4 turbo with DSG and Quattro.

They had to strengthen the whole drivetrain for it to last long without it disintegrating.
