Are you happy you made the move? Does a chipped 2.0T compare (speed wise) descently with a stage I S4? Thinking about making the switch, but I'm a torque ***** now, and not sure if I'll be happy with the 2.0T chipped.
Thanx in advance for your opinions!

Well APR indicates 292 torque, while their stage 1 B5 S4 shows 382 lb-ft.
And a Stage 1 B6 S4 is a claimed 312 lb-ft.

Having had a B5 S4 and now to the 2.0T...
The 91 Octane program on the 2.0T feels stronger than a stock B5 S4. On 100 Octane it feels much more like a chipped B5 S4, and it would probably pull a B6 or B7 S4 (though I haven't had the chance to try). The 2.0 feels very torquey down low, so you actually feel faster if you short-shift it and don't run it all the way to red line.
I'm looking forward to the extra power an aftermarket exhaust will give...

B5 S4 rules. It was my first choice but almost impossible...
to find an avant with MT in low mileage, unabused condition. The 1 or 2 that I did find were sold within days, before I could even get my money together.
