Anyone else is starting to hate the 2.0T engine?
<center><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/kaynine364/DSC00616.jpg"></center><p>Is it only me?
Look at the torque and power curve... chipped or stock, chipped is even worse. This thing behaves like a diesel. It just plainly dies after 5000 RPM, and does not do much below 3,000 RPM! Gee, I have 2,000 RPM of fun.
I think I am going to drive the 3.2 A3 and see how much screwed I would be if I traded.... I miss my R32.
Someone tell me if I am missing something? I know that KO4 would make this ebgine wake up, but I was not going to modd this car that much....
Help before I trade it in, and my wife kills me!

You've got to be kidding bud...
The torque dies off bc it's just that...torque. After 5252, check HP. It stays flat all the way to redline only dipping slightly. Cant blame the car for having more tq than hp when chipped due to the turbo making its boost down low. Still, it's holding over 200whp there up to redline. And down low it making over 200tq to the wheels at less than 2500rpm. It's torqier than the V6 down low. Has nothing to do with the motor. Strap on a gt28rs and that will shift everything up high.
Next, look at it in stock mode. Its a STRAIGHT line all the way across. Absolutely amazing. Your talking powerband EVERYWHERE. No dead spots. You'll never see that in a NA V6.
cheers! Mike

I was hoping you respond.
Maybe my car is just running like crap. I am going to take some logs tonight.
Is there a good FAQ/Logging documentation for the 2.0T? I know what to look for on the 2.7T, but the 2.0 is still foreign to me.
Or maybe the exhaust is too restrictive?
Where do you live? Maybe you can drive my car, and tell me if I am just spoiled.

Pretty similar logging functions as the 1.8t but some added channels...
I was thinking it might be the exhaust as well, but we dyno and data logged a couple mods in that area and it ended up not being a problem due to the car being maxed with a good performance program anyways. Basically we are at 1.8T turbo upgraded K04 power levels with just chipped 2.0t cars except our powerband is rediculously wider than theirs. It's going to take some hardware I have a feeling to see a bunch more power. Feel free to email me if you want to give a call and chat on the 2.0t. I'm in Lexington. cheers! And don't forget..once you've maxed out the stock injectors..then what?
They are a special design,no? So you're only going to get up to a certain HP before having to swap those bad boys! I can't even imagine what those would cost. Maybe someone here knows...and I'm curious.

I would even venture to say go with the 2871R :>P
if the 1.8T can boost the RS by 3500 RPM, the 2.0 should be able to do about the same with the 2871R :>P
