Default B7 A4 Reviewed in new CAR magazine (November issue)

And man do they HATE the new exterior. They especially criticized the rear lights and felt that Audi did a better job of executing the grill design on the new A6 and A3.

Some quotes:

"Unlike the facelift, the mechanical changes really work"

"It's hard to believe that this A4 comes from the same company that brought us the TT. Where's the grace, the balance, the subtlety?"

But the good news is that they LOVE the way it drives and said it's a pretty good improvement on the B6. (suspension and steering). And they gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

CAR is a great British magazine and I've been reading it for years. Check it out at Barnes & Noble or Borders.

Anyway I'm sure the ultrasport version will look good.

I agree with them. It does look ugly.

Default Interesting..

Regarding the design, my take on it is that it is not necessarily ugly, but a letdown for sure. It was rushed, and forced onto an existing platform. Driven by management to quickly unify the family design and compete with the new BMW 3 series. I'm surprised they did that.

Look for the B8 to be a proper, unified design that speaks the design language and direction Audi is headed. I think they will get that one right. The new TT looks pretty good from what I've seen.

Anyway the B7 is a still a GOOD design, just not great. It will be interesting to see more reviews from the auto world as it makes it to dealerships.

Is your S4 a U.S. model? Avus silver isn't available on the A4/S4 here

Default Yes. Custom ordered the color.

$2500 extra.

For the new B7 models, look at Quartz Grey Metallic -- it is hot! And obviously no extra charge for the A4.

Glad to see that dumb marketing name gone. "Infotainment" should go next.
