Buy High Mileage 2006 A4 3.2?
Someone in my area is selling a 2006 A4 3.2 with a 6 speed manual transmission. The car has 256k on the odometer and is listed for $2,200. I'm in the market for a 2nd car now that my younger sister is living with me and has been using my car often.
My question to you guys is do you think it is worth the risk of paying $2,200 for a car with that many miles on it? I spoke to the seller and he **seems** like an honest guy. He said the only current issues with the car are leaky valves (which he has the replacement gaskets for) and a partially clogged heating coil. He also said that he used the car up until last month for his daily commute which is 100 miles round trip. He got a new job which is near his house so now he uses his primary vehicle.
Any thoughts and advice from a group of seasoned A4 veterans would be greatly appreciated so thank you in advance.

Hello! i am a new poster in this forum, in fact this is my first post. I have been following the Audiworld forums for some time now so i'm going to tell you about my experience about my B7 3.2 quattro.
First mine is automatic and that is the first issue you wont be handling. Although it is a great transmission your valve body has to be maintained pristine in order to enjoy the most out of it.
To the details, the 3.2 FSI is a well built engine with two main weak spots:
I've been in several long trips with this 2005 A4 with 2 kids and my wife and we have all enjoyed them. Longest trip was Mexico City to Santa Fe, NM. and it went smooth and without problems.
For the price it seems to be a good option but check the overall contidion.

- carbon buildup - easy fix 2 days DIY
- timing chain tensioners - Advanced Fix 1 day DIY
- ill leave an optional 3rd here wich im trying to prove - valve lifters - To Be Determined
