Can you retro-fit heated front seats to a B7 A4 Avant? I'm looking
at a possible purchase, but the car comes from SoCal (I'm in NY) and doesn't have heated front seats (beats me why that's not std eqpmt on all Audi's) - w/o these, I wouldn't consider the car. Anyway, can the front seats be "swapped" out for heated versions and the proper electrical stuff be installed? Is this something an Audi dealer can do? Anyone do this? If so, can you give a bllpark on cost?
Any and all feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i'm sure it can, but there's a cost-benefit analysis to consider
at the very least, you'd be replacing the seats, the Climate Controls, and any wiring to hook up the two, along with the cost of labor involved with installing it (i'm assuming you're not doing the install yourself). I guaruntee there are enough cars out there that would fit the description you're looking for that you could find a similar car already with the heated seats. If you figure the seats themselves would be probably $300-$400, the climate control unit is probably another $200 (guesstimate) etc., is it really worth $700+ to retrofit a feature you could probably find already installed?

My preference certainly is to find a car that comes with the heated seats
and as I've been looking off and on for awhile, really haven't seen too many real clean, low mile B7 Avant s-lines ( with at least 1 yr of orig warranty or CPO'd) for sale. This one w/o the front heaters may be a good enough deal that it might be worth pursuing the retro-fit.
