Default chip question...having fleeting thoughts about flashing my car

I had GIAC programming on my 1.8t ultrasport, but to be honest I definitely don't feel that a chip is "necessary" on the 2.0t to the same level I felt with my 1.8t. I'm thinking about getting the flash, but it would be more for pure fun than anything else. As far as programming goes, how does milage compare after flashing...I realize that driving WOT and consistantly in the turbo range will drop fuel consumption considerably, but in general around town driving how does it perform? I'm very much in the thinking about it but don't need to have it stage, so just doing initial research at this point. Thanks in advance!

Default past threads...

"...should've came this way from the factory."
"...gas mileage improved slightly."
"...car pulls hard."

I had a USP with GIAC flash too and the stock 2.0T feels stronger.

There are two things that are preventing me from getting a flash. An upgraded DV in the 2.0T is much more expensive, and the PCV issue with all the flashed folks. I just don't have time to deal with issues in general.

Default you think an upgraded DV is needed?

I ended up getting one in my B6, but I'd heard the Diverter valves were stronger in the B7's....not sure what this PVC issue you're mentioning is though...guess i've got some searching to do

Default New DV's are not that expensive (see link)...

You most likely will have to replace it, but it's not hard or expensive...

DV's can tear even on stock cars. All depends on if you beat on her or not!

Our APR flashed customers typically report 2-3MPG better in daily driving
