Climate Control Unit Question
I have a question about the CC unit, and if it may be the cause to my AC not working.
I've been having A/C issues since last fall, and decided to tackle the job and figure it out this week. After some diagnosis, and testing the A/C fan with a battery, I realized that the A/C fan was indeed shot. Wouldn't turn. So I figured that was my issue, and after replacing it, it would be all good. Ordered a whole new fan assembly, replaced both fans. Also replaced the Fan Control Module, since I've heard they can be the issue as well. Once I finished I tried my AC and nothing. At first the A/C fan didn't even kick on... wtf. Then the next time I tried it did kick on, but still no A/C. System is completely charged, and the pressure switch was replaced a couple years ago. Then the next day the fan wont come on again, and I haven't gotten it to run since.
So I decided to check polarity on every single fuse in the fuse box, as well as the ECU box. All are good. Next step was to see if I was getting 12v from the FCM to the wires going to the A/C fan.... nothing, no voltage while car is running and temp on low, full blast fans. ECON light off. Next I wanted to check if the compressor was getting voltage. Nope. That's not getting voltage either.
So i thought, maybe its my CC unit? Maybe when i try to turn on the A/C it doesn't actually send the signal out to turn on the A/C, sending 12v to fan/compressor. So I ordered a used one from Ebay and will get it later this week.
Does this make sense for me to think this could be the CC unit? I really don't get what else it could be. Is there some hidden relay I don't know about?
