Early Lease Buy-Out Questions
Ok board members I'm looking for some feedback on a lease buy-out offer from my Audi dealer. I've got a 3yr lease on a 2006 Audi A4, 2.0lt S-line, that had a sticker price of $41k. It's loaded with every option and I've since added an APR flash, winter set of A4 Avus wheels/tires, Thule rack, all weather rubber mats, ipod integration and debadged it. The lease is up in June of 2009, the residual value is $23,311.75 and it's only got 27k miles on it.
I'm wondering if any of this is negotiable, like the shop costs to prep for CPO warrantly, and whether or not it looks like a good deal.
So here's the early buy-out options I was given:
-Residual cost reduced to $21,486
-Eliminate last two remaining lease payments @ $547 each
-CPO Shop Labor is $1,000
-CPO Warranty is $2,100
-Document fee of 498.9
-Title fee of 17.20
Total: $24,586
> Term: 24mo
> Interest: .9%
> Monthly Payment: 1134.24
>
>
> Term: 36mo
> Interest: 1.9%
> Monthly Payment: 771.58
>
>
> Term: 48 mo
> Interest: 2.9%
> Monthly Payment: 596.22
>
>
> Term: 60 mo
> Interest: 3.9%
> Monthly Payment: 496.05
I appreciate any feedback you guys offer.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, your car is actually worth less than $20,000 without CPO.
It's probably really worth just a tad over $20,000 with CPO (and that's being a bit generous).
That may sound crazy but it's the real truth right now.
Now if you really like the car you have now and are willing to pay above market value to keep it for the long term, then buying out your lease makes some sense.
But from a purely financial perspective, your best bet is to turn it in at the end of term and get something else.

Drop the CPO Warranty and you're there. At this point, for me it would come down to how you feel about the car. Try to get them to waive the doc fee if you keep the CPO. Why is your residual value so high? I built my lease out so it would be around 18K

Stick with your dealer...keep the relationship....and negotiate the deal just like your car was on their lot. Every variable you mentioned is negotiable.....every single one of them.

Whoooooooshhhhhh.....the sound of a hero flying in to undercut the whole process. It's gotta be a little scary to think that a dealer would be so eager to save you so much money.

that was a good one.
ur right about sticking with the original dealer (its good to be loyal) and trying to negotiate.
and dealers these days are truly willing to negotiate.

Don't drop the CPO warranty if you're financing and actually plan to keep the car. The rate is lower and you'll still have some kind of warranty.
And hey if you don't want my help and you feel like paying way more than you should be my guest. As many forum members can tell you I'm very helpful even if I'm not the one selling you a car.
