Default Experience with VentureShield?

I'm expecting our new B7 in early June (the wait seems forever!!) and was considering whether to go with the clear bra VentureShield (through the dealer for $695). Living in Boston, there's no shortage of sand/pebbles thrown up on the roads.

I've googled and got nearly all positive responses. Many state that it's barely visible and there's no discolation over time and that it can be cleaned/waxed as normal.

I'd be interested in anyone's opinion here on this product. Also, does anyone know about long-term effects and how easily it can be removed?
We intend to own the car for 10+ years.

Default nothing but positives for similar products. can be removed with heat and patience.

you'll probably go through more than one application in 10 years' time. I've gone through 2 on my TT in 5 years, about to get another. It will splinter if a large enough impact occurs, but still better to replace that piece of clear rather than paint or replace and paint the bumper. Worth it!! Cover the leading edge of any surface that might get hit.

Default We call it stoneguard

I put it on my black '07 cabrio. You can't tell it's there unless you are right on top of the car. A coworker has had it on his Silver S4 for 6+ years now (2 applications, first one yellowed after 4 years) and says it's the best thing he ever did for the car.

I've had the self applied stuff on my Pilot for 5 years on the headlamps and fog lights. I had rocks go through both front lenses of my Rodeo in 4 years, after 5 on the Pilot, not a hole. It's worth it just for that, never mind the rock chips on the hood.

yep--let the plastic take the hit, not your paint. A big enough rock can go through, yes.
