Failed iPod installation attempt (story + images)
The project began on a very optimistic note:
The Kit: <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/1_delivered_as_part_of_kit.jpg">
Still really positive - purchased "special tools" to pull the radio. This is important because the connector is on the other side
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/3_tools_used_to_pull_the_nav.jpg">
What the Nav+ looks like from the back side: <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/4_nav_rear_end.jpg">
This is the first part of the integation - Swap existing blue plug for the with the blue plug provided by the kit. Things seemed straight forward at this point. There is a brown wire and and a connector -- I found a place for the brown wire, the connector is a mystery????
Things got a bit tense:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/6_things_got_a_bit_tense.jpg">
And then did not get better... This a tool which is not included (among others) that may prove helpful: <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/7_another_tool_-_not_included.jpg">
No idea what to do next. Where does this plug into????? : <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/36675/9_where_does_this_plug_in_part_2.jpg">
So, I hope you may learn from this and please share your "positive" install experience. The experience of trying to install the iPod adapter has been simply, miserable.
I hope, you the reader, will learn from this failed attempt - an share how you completed the integration successfully.
Bla!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- The right tools-- this tool is very helpful and important <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4b7/msgs/28003.phtml">Previous Post</a>

Where did you buy the keys to pull the RNS+E out?
I've been looking for them but every place I go to, they're out of stock and will take a few weeks/months to get in. Anyone know of a place that has 4 in stock, at a decent price?
