Great, another bulbous centre console in the B7.

I just don't understand. I did not understand it in the B6 and I don't understand it in the B7. I dumped my B6 by May 2002 due to the horrible kneeroom, and they KEPT the same console for the new model? Excuse me, but I lost a bunch of cash on that pre-ordered car and still want to bitch about it. There is no more room than the width of the steering wheel! I have owned a B2 B3 B4 B5 and none had the kneeroom issues of the B6. I really think it is a defect, flame away. It seems the console is a copy of the A6 console with the unnecessary dual-climate and it makes room for NAV or whatever.

https://www.audiworld.com/news/04/b7a4/interior/content.shtml</a

Are you larger than average?
No offense intended. But the B6 is perfect for me. However I'm only 5'10" and 140 lbs. I've never heard of anyone else complaining about this. Maybe an SUV would be better for you? I think it's challenging for auto makers to design interiors for all shapes and sizes, so they go for the average.

The width of the console makes no sense, it definitely forces you to get used to
something different then most cars.
The problem I see with the A4/S4 is it almost forces your right leg/knee to be a in a different position then most other cars. The center console is too far into the footwell more so then other vehicles.
Is this the problem you notice as well ?
I would think with time you could get used to it by changing the position of your right leg but I wish they would change it. Auto magazines bring it up every now and then so it is an issue that should have been addressed but for some reason Audi has left it alone.
Here is the strange thing, I have the RX8 and that is considered a sports car and while the drivers area is tight compared to most sedans it is actually more roomy then the A4/S4
