Did they mention why?
(having not looked under the B7 myself)
when there is nothing in the way, it's a simple uninstall, gasket, reinstall job, which is 2 hours tops. The problem comes when there is some inconvenient part in the way, like a subframe. Then they add a few hours to the estimate.
I would take out the labor part of the dealer estimate, multiple by 80% (what an independent might charge for labor) and add it up with parts again to figure out what you'll pay at an independent mechanic.
