Default I don't know about the B7, but I think the A/C in my B6 is among the best I've ever experienced....

p.s. I don't use "Auto"

I keep the A/C on Lo at all times,
Recirculate and/or Auto-Recirculate
Center Vents only

I think the A/C is freezing cold and has amazing strength.

Default Houston's pretty damn hot and humid and the B7 AC does the job IMO

In fact, I frequently switch from regular mode to economy

You might want to take your car into the dealership and see if something is wrong...better yet, test out another A4 and see if you have the same issues

Default I guarantee I have it the worst out of all of you...

I live in Phoenix... today on the road my thermo was reading 113 degrees and it's only early June.

The a/c does have it's moments... generally ice cold when the car is cold and then after some driving, it kinda goes in and out but generally keeps the car adequately cool.

I find it to be quite accurate - just takes a few to get rid of the heat soak
