My driver side window motor died (2005.5 A4)
I hope this is the right forum but I wanted to know if I was the only one that this has happened to and how much should I expect to have it fixed.
It happened very suddenly as there was no previous indication that there was a problem. I put the window down, then it struggled to go back up. I put the window down a second time later in the day and I had to 'help' it go back up by pushing the window up while the window button was pushed.
I've never had this happen in a car so I was a bit surprised. I need to go in for my maintenance anyway but figured if this was a common problem or if it just me and how much I would expect to spend on fixing it.

Funny, mine just went out and was replaced under warranty. It makes me worry though, about future ownership and when the regulators will go out on my other windows. Does anyone know what these cost?

Rather common unforntunately. It's not the motor, as I also suspected. It's the "regulator" which is basically the track the window goes up and down on. Somwhere in the tech section there is a how to on replacing one. Seems rather involved. My driver's side went and was fixed under warraty. My passenger side is currently on the fritz and I avoid using it. Audi reliability has not been impressive, but I love the car.

Re: Common problem, window regulator...
I've had this go out on one of my previous vehicles (1995 Rodeo)back in 2004. I took it to my trusty mechanic not the dealer. I believe it ran around $150 parts and labor.
