Default Need a quick answer

If you had to choose between a B7 A4 and a TL. Both are fully loaded (w/navi for the TL). Just wondering what everybody would do. Thanks for the input.

B7 A4. In a hearbeat. Faster, if possible.

Default The TL is a very nice car, but you can see why the car is not more expensive.

it is still very Honda like.
Look at the trunk for example; it does not have any shocks on the side and when you close it the whole thing starts shaking.
The glove box will brake your knee caps when you open it.
Major torque steer and it is quick but does not feel 270hp quick.
Saying that, however, it does offer Bluetooth along with Voice recognition (delayed on B7), however the Bluetooth is pretty basic from what I understand. It won't pull your phone book from your SIM card.
The A4 even with the 2.0 is more refined and the NAV is quite excellent as well.
I just got mine about a week ago with NAV+ and am very happy with it.
But the best part: there are not as many A4 as freaking TLs out there!!!
Also...QUATTRO BABY!!!

Default A little perspective is in order

You are, after all, on an Audi forum. A co-worker of mine has both a BMW 325 and an Acura TL. When I was shopping for my new car, I asked him which he liked better and why. His response? The BMW, because he can feel when he's driving it.

Default I am in the same situation. I would chose the A4. The TL is very nice but drives like a civic

If you are looking to save a few $ try the Infiniti G35x or you could get a good deal on an outgoung 3 series. I am also wondering if the A4 is way too many $. A4 2.0Q Auto nicely equipped is now 37k!

Default B7...what did you expect from an Audi enthusiast website?

But seriously, it really boils down to how much of a driving enthusiast you really are. I'll admit, the TL is a nice car with inexpensive horsepower. But, if you measure fit, finish, style, and AWD, there is simply no comparison between the TL and a German made Audi.

If you're practical minded, go with the TL since Japanese cars have very little maintenance.

If you want to turn heads and really feel the road when you drive, definitely, DEFINITELY go with the A4.

Default Sad to say it...

We ended up gettin the TL today. We really needed a car and had the Acura on hold (Anthricite gray/camel navi). I drove the B7 today and it seriously amazed me. The servotronic steering made it ridiculously simple to get out of the tight spot I was in when I started the drive. Also, the power increase was incredible! I've never seen the speedometer in my Audi move so damn fast! The surprising thing was this was at the LOW end of the rev range. Coasting at 25, I could hit the gas to ~2800 - which wouldn't really cause anything to happen in my B6 - but now I'd take off!

The only problem was that we couldn't find a package on any car that matched what we wanted. We looked for an 2.0 with pretty much every option possible in Dolphin/Gray or Quartz/Gray.

I'll post some pics of the TL as soon as I get a chance. Thanx for the response tho.
