need specific instruction to pollen filter
On my A4, there is a cover to right of battery (passengers)side. Is this where the pollen filter is, and how does that cover come off?

Try this....
Pull the spongy seal off to allow the cover to be pulled off.
Then there are two tabs that keep the actual cover in place pull off and you have access to the cabin filter.

Are you referring to the weather strip facing motor?
I guess I need a service manual, because there are so many things I need to know how to do on this car that isn't explained in owners manual like in most cars. Why there would be no instruction for pollen filter, engine air filter, differential & trans oils, is so annoying. This is the only car or truck I've owned that doesn't explain these maintenance items.

Because the more you know the less the dealer can charge you to come in to do simple things...
like the above referenced items.
You got it, the weather strip. Just pull it off, enough to pull the initial cover off.
