Default question for stick shift drivers

when you are changing gears > 2 and < 6 and you let your foot off the gas, do you experience the car continue to accelerate for just a moment longer than it should?
The higher the rpm the more pronounced i feel it. But even while doing "non-aggresive" driving, its noticeable that gas cut off doesnt happen at the expected instant.
I have driven stick shifts all my life and I have never experienced this before. Anyone?

Default I've noticed...Throttle by wire sux

This is my third car with throttle by wire. Can some please explain to me the benefits of this? They say throttle response is improved. I never had any issue with throttle reponse on past, non TBW cars. Each car with this technology has acted spooky at times. Inconsistant. Weird. I just don't get it.

Normal for Motronic and throttle. Will be more pronounced when cold.

No benefits...over engineering. The car mfgrs have gone about as far as they can go and are now getting bored. Examples are throttle by wire, active steering, speed sensitive radio volume, adjustable air suspensions, and last but not least brake wiping feature?!

My opinion anyway...

Default Better for less experienced drivers...

The engine "hanging" at an RPM when you let off the gas seems to be designed to aid in smoother shifts that are also better on the synchro's. At least that's my opinion as to why... I still don't like it though.

Its true, drive by wire is worthless, and actually has less throttle response than cable.

True. But the gripe here is regarding the "hang" during shifts. The Revs stay up giving an artificial and unsettling feel, especially during power shifts.

Suffice it to say Audi blew it with this one. I don't see them going away from it, so can only hope they fix the problem(s).

The dull and numb active steering is another bad move. Seems like all the mfgrs have to keep one-upping each other even when the idea is bad.

well, at low RPM cruising, WOT apparently allows for a more efficient combustion or something.

my bently manual says that since the computer controls the throttle plate, it can open the throttle and keep RPMs down to maximize fuel efficiency when you're not flooring it.
