RNS-E Retrofit issue
Sorry if this question has been posted before but after a rather exhaustive search I couldn't find any reference to my problem. I recently retrofitted a RNS-E unit into my 2007 A4 (purchased from a reputable online source) and after a successful installation and recoding of my instrument cluster to display the navigation instructions I noticed that when I turned the engine off and took the key out of the ignition, the cooling fan on the RNS-E continued to run and the stereo seemed to be in a "standby mode" where you can hear a faint hissing coming from the speakers. This continues even when the car is locked. I have a 2005 allroad with a factory installed RNS-E and while there is a short time where that unit stays on when the key is removed from the ignition, as soon as the door is opened, the unit shuts off completely. Upon installation of my RNS-E into the A4, I had to move a couple of pins in the factory harness to make my Bose system compatible with the new RNS-E unit. I'm at a bit of a loss regarding what to do. I can't leave it like it is as it will continuously be on and drain my battery. I saw a similar post some while back but I can't find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I know you said you did an extensive search, but I am providing this just in case it yields something for you. Did you do an advanced search? If not, give it a shot as I got a lot of threads/posts containing RNS-E references.
Click on Advanced Search and enter RNS-E in the keyword field. Then what I did was select A4 from the drop-down list on the right. Now hit Search. Sorry if you knew this already. I'm assuming you may not.
