Default Squeeky shifter?

For the last three weeks the gear shifter has developed a squeek. Moving it side to side slowly you can feel something rubbing and can hear it also (of course when everything around you is dead quiet). I had it greased up at the dealer a few weeks ago when it was there for something else, but it didn't seem to address it.

Anybody else have this issue? Also, how does one remove the boot and the trim piece around the shifter?

Thanks

Default I don't have that problem but

I remember someone posting great instructions on installing a short shifter which also showed how to remove the trim and how to get the boot off. I think it should pop up if you search for short shifter install. good luck!

No issues like that. Mine is certainly notchy though. Requires some extra attention when shifting. I've only had the car since december. Hopefully it will be a little better in warmer weather.

That happened with my B6. Just take it to a dealer and they'll spray some grease. That solved it.
