Default Startup delay,

so, im a 3.2 with 16k, the car has always started right up, like first 2 turns and its up and running. but consecutively getting worst the past couple weeks has been a delay to start once it starts cranking, like a good 3-4 seconds.

anyone got any ideas?

I read something about fouled plugs, does that happen to all of us? should i just swap the plugs? anyone one know what i should put in in place of stock?

Thanks,

when i got my APR software put in it seemed to have gone away. not sure what it was exactly but maybe have the dealer reflash your ECU with the latest software?

this sometimes occurs for me, dealer replaced a fuel sender sensor and it fixed it for awhile. Problem came back, could be a bad fuel pump, lines, etc.. i will take it in this week and will post back when i find something

Could be the carbon buildup issue. I had the same symptoms as well as engine misfire starting at about 17K, now at 25K, they just did the intake valve clean yesterday so we will see how things go.

Do you hear the noise (fuel pump/ flap or whatever it is ) when you open the drivers door ?

I believe I am having this issue with my 08 3.2. I hear the fuel pump noise when I open my drivers door. What does that indicate? How is your car after the intake vavle cleaning?

It's somewhat improved, not sure if the cleaning had anything to do with it or not.

I usually hear two distinct noises when I open the door and the car has not been used for sometime, a fairly loud, short (perhaps 1 second) hydraulic type noise, maybe a flap moving and a high pitch whining that lasts for 2-3 seconds. If I do not hear the louder short noise the car will take longer to start. They may be related but it's hard to detect where they come from. I had also heard sometime ago that this may be related to coolant temperature and a failed sensor but would have expected that to throw a CEL.

This was a common issue on the 2.0T. There was a recall on the ecm, and there was a software update to the ecu to alleviate the cold starting issues.
