Tip, torque converter hesistation problem?
When you really step on it on D from a stand still and need power fast to merge on to traffic, etc., the car moves forward at a leisurely pace for a while before the power kicks in. It's like the classic turbo lag. Does anyone have this problem with Tip?

All 2.0T tips do it. Unfortunatley an inherent design flaw...
Also seems worse in S mode for the situation you described.
Personally I'm like you and I'm displeased with the combination of the 2.0T and tip when in the situation you described which is one reason I'll be switching to a 3.2 unless the B8 with the new 2.0T and new "fast shifting" tip is as fantastic as claimed and has addressed the aformentioned issue.

Re: What's light brake boosting?
left foot on brake, right foot on accelerator. Build rpms no more than 2k-2.5k (in our cars anyway). When you need to haul ***, release brake and floor it. Some pressure has built up by the turbo to reduce lag, and having the accelerator on will help reduce the drive-by-wire throttle lag.
If you run the rpms any higher all the computers kick in and you will sit there like a wounded duck (kinda like an ABS kick-in).
Other things I've done to help me off the line: turn ESP off, tranny in manual mode or just S mode. I use this technique to pull out of busy situations, or if i need to hit it off the line to get over to the next lane.
Hope this helps.
