What do you suppose "Outsourced Repairs" means on a CarFax report?
My dealership called me up yesterday and told me that he has "great news." I thought he was going to tell me that they finished painting the bumper on the car I am getting, and that I could come pick it up. It's a 2006 CPO in mint condition, except that it needed a new rear bumper skin. I was not too crazy about the fact that an otherwise perfect car would have a repainted rear bumper.
Instead he told me something even better. He found the exact car I want -- an Ocean Blue with sport suspension and tech package. (The previous car which I put a deposit on did not have the tech package, hence my questions on this forum about adding xenons.)
I ran a CarFax report on it, and the report is the most detailed CarFax report I have ever seen. It lists when the car came off the boat, when it arrived at the dealership. It includes specific service items performed, such as reprogram engine computer, routine maintenance performed, and even wash/detail vechicle
However before the car went into service, CarFax also lists "Outsourced Repairs completed." Does that mean that the car got scuffed during transport, and had to have some paint work done?
Any way to find out?
I emailed the dealership which originally sold and serviced the car (also listed on the CarFax report), but they don't really have any incentive to help me out, since I am not buying from them.
Thanks!

What is "Outsourced Repairs on CarFax report means ?
Hi,
I am planning to buy a certified Audi A4 from an Audi dealer in NJ. But the carfax report shows that before the car was sold, the initial dealer had done "outsourced repairs" . Otherwise the car looks clean .
Also how do I know for sure that the car which I bought from an Audi dealer is certified or not. I have seen some of the carfax report showing this. But in this report , I don't see anything which says that it is certified.
All replies would be greatly appreciated. Here is the a part of the CarFax report.
