Where To Put GPS

Where To Put GPS
I just bought a new GPS and after sitting in my 2006 a4 for about 5 minutes I have no idea where to put it. There doesn't seem to be any place where i can reach it but it won't obstruct my view.
Could anyone with a non-built-in GPS provide pics of where they put it?

Get a ProClip mount
Clips on the center vent. The caveat is that it is relatively expensive. ($60 for a mounting system.)

I've always put them to the far left of the gauge panel
then run the wire down into the pillar trim like the V1 and run under the dash and it comes out just under the ignition to plug in to the cig lighter. Zip ties are your friend for a semi-permanent solution.

Re: Where To Put GPS
alot of people dont exactly like where i have mine mounted but to answer your question, i have a nuvi 7 series and it sits right next to the cig lighter in that pocket. i got 2 small magnets, glued on to to the gps and one to the cover flap of the little door and it stays there regardless of how hard i step on the gas. the cable is ran under the shifter trim and the e brake piece and comes up and plugs right into the socket under the ebrake. also the gps has an upwards tilt. some people dont like looking down at the gps, but i hate having it in my face so it works fine for me.

I have my Nuvi installed w the Pro-Clip center vent mount... I love the location

It doesn't block the vent, so heat or air still moves around. Pretty good height for the eyes, I also liked the vent mount for the left side but my widescreen nuvi would have been a little to big for that side IMO.

i dont understand you guys
ive read this forum for a few years not and cant understand what hypocrites some of you guys are. some one will post asking about a sound of what can they do to replace this piece or how these tires preform and so on and you will all tell him to get lost because he should have searched and hes wasting your time. but some schmuck cant figure out where to put his GPS and you all come running.
Ive seen 30 posts of people who showed off their GPS location if this guy would have searched he could have save all of your "time", but i can figure out why you guys didn't.
everyone who posts questions on forums just needs help and cant figure things out for them selves. maybe they searched and couldn't find a direct answer and maybe they didn't, try and help everyone.
been wanting to say this for some time now, its like some of you like making other people feel like idiots instead of spending the same amount of time and helping.
