2010 A4 2.O advised not to stage 1?

Contacted an APR dealer who informed me they dont stage 1 tune on fwd only quattro because the transmission cant take it? Is this true?

The FWD has a CVT tranny. CVT's cannot take nearly as much torque as a more traditional automatic.
