Any body ever run "General" brand tires
So I'm having a hard time finding 19 inch all season tires in stock that don't cost an arm and a leg. Has any body ever used a tire made by General. I can get them for $192/tire. I paid $272/tire for my Michelin pilots 10 months and 25k miles ago and they are already at 3/32, are noisy and need replaced.

Yes -- I had difficulty getting them road force balanced, found them very noisy and ultimately took TireRack up on their money back within 30 days warranty.
Rebought Yokohama Advan S.4 (I have the 19" A4 sport package set up and wanted Ultra High Performance A/S tires) General and Yoko and Mich, as I recall were the only game in town. The Yokos ended up being $256 per tire, compared to the Generals which were $189.
The Michelin's were the most expensive.
You get what you pay for, perhaps?

I don't think it's a quality issue. Generals are just rebranded Continentals. General is owned by Continental and they're even made in the same plant. Like any tire it is possible to get a bad run though.

I had a set of the General Exclaim UHP's on my B7, they were an all round good tire for the money.
there is a good review on TireRack

I also had a set of Fierce tires they are a rebrand of Dunlop I believe. I had their UHP M&S and could run them in light snow. would probably rate them higher than the Generals.

I've never run them, but know some people who have and complained about treadwear being very poor. For all seasons, I like Toyo Proxes 4 and Pirelli P Zero M&S.

I have General tires on my 2005 Pathfinder. Obviously they are SUV tires, but I have 67k miles on them and they are quiet and grip well. I would buy them again, and consider putting them on my 2011 A4 when the time comes.
Save your money for something important, like getting a new Audi sooner then the rest of the people telling you to buy expensive tires!

I have a set of the General Exclaim UHP's on my wife's allroad. They've been fine but I prefer the newer Continental ExtremeContact DWS I got last year for my A4.
