Album art on my Audi A4 does not show up from Ipod or SD card. I have even tried importing songs to Jukebox. Still no luck, i know there is some specifications on how to attach album art to the song so Audi MMI reads them but just don't know what it is ?

Anyone out there how has been through this issue before?

The image must be embedded into the file in the metadata tag and may be up to 800x800. I use Mp3tag (also works for AAC/MP4) and it even has a function to download the album image from Amazon.

Hi, i tried all the options.

I used mp3tag to embed album art to the song. Tried this on Mp3 and AAC format songs.

Even downloaded some songs from itunes to see if it shows album art when plaed via SD card but nothing so far so I have few questions?


Does the album art appear on the MMI display when playing media through SD card or ipod or CD or DVD ?

Can you send me a screenshot of what it looks like on the MMI screen ?

Do I need to do any specific setting ?

Actually I have an A6 so I'm not sure if it's the same.

For an iPod to show album art, apparently it needs to be connected with the version of the AMI cable with the red grommet, not the blue grommet.

For the SD card or jukebox, make sure you have the option set to display the track info, and a box should pop up while playing that has about a 1 inch square for the album cover:

Media > Settings > Display track info

The jukebox also has an album browser where the covers will show up much larger.

For the 3 years i have been lurking in the Audi forums i have never heard of that being possible on the A4. If it is, it must be on the facelift model with the Audi connect capability, i.e. the newest MMI system.
