Audi A4 Engine Oil

Audi A4 Engine Oil
I took my car to a local independent shop to get a oil change. I am concerned about the oil they are using. The part number I was given seems to lead back to nothing. Anyone have a clue what the part number refers to?
Part #: CHEM-PS5W40
Part #: CHEM-PS5W40

It could be an internal part number they created. Some 5W40 oils do meet the VAG 502.00 spec required for cars in the USA. Maybe it's the Castrol product?

The preferred viscosity for the US B8.0 2.0T CAEB motor is 5W-40. The Castrol EDGE Syntec with the yellow SEA 5W-40 U.S. label on it (ie, the one that has VW 502 00 on the back) is the only oil I use.
As for your shop, as Uber mentioned, it's likely just an internal inventory tracking number. CHEM is probably just "chemical". What exact oil it is, you'll just have to ask them.
If you can't get a straight answer from them, or it turns out it's not a VW 502 00 compliant , well, I'd be changing it again.
If you like them, just bring a 5qt of the oil for them to use next time.

I just pick that up when it's time to change. Last time they were doing a special for any 5qt and some cheap filter I wouldn't use, but for only $32 or something. I let the counter clerk pick a filter and keep it.
I will drain out about 200mL from the 5qt, then the rest just gets dumped in. The CAEB capacity is 4.6L, or 4.86qt, so you can't just dump in the whole 5qt.
If you're in a B8.5 with whatever motor came after CAEB, you'll have to check your manual for its capacity.

Any quick change place buys oil by the volume. So what's in the barrel most likely has minimal protection . .Either do it yourself or find someone who will change it with either the correct oil that you bring or they will use what you tell them to use. Also the 5 qts fill up is typical of what is done at the dealership. The slight overfill will not hurt the engine. What the little extra does is hide some of the consumption issues and will show full for a longer period of time.
