Maybe not now...but I had several really bad vandalism claims many years ago on cars I owned outright (no finance or lease), talking 20+, with both GEICO & Allstate, and both companies refused to allow the body shops to use even repro-parts. They insisted that only used parts from a junk yard be used. The shops tried to fight them...but with no luck.
In each case, as soon as the car was fixed, I dropped them like a bad habit, and went with another insurer.
Needless to say...I will never...ever...do business with either one again.

I had no desire to pay either company any more money, after having been with both for over 15 years each, and never having any prior claims.

Geico still uses aftermarket parts, not sure about Allstate. You just have to do your due diligence when shopping for a car insurance. There are carriers like GMAC that actually advertise that they only use OEM parts. Like I said before, nothing is for free.
