i guess i will give them a call and see if those original quoted dates are still standing. Im sure the salesperson wants to make the sale and there is probably a level of exagerating the delivery date...i should have thought about that when i ordered a manual.

i guess i have to be patient. I got a little scared when some people wrote on the forums that they have been waiting for their cars for alot longer than 3 months. I wish i would have known about the "allocation" whereas there is a larger allocation for larger dealerships. The dealership I worked with didnt seem too big, hopefuly I am the first on the list for the manual.

Ferrari, Lambo, and super car buyers in general typically wait over a year for their cars. Not so much in this market, but before last September, sure. It happens to BMW, Audi, Mercedes, pretty much all of them when there is something hot coming out. A4 has been a pretty strong car so far and a lot of the early owners had to wait a pretty long while for sport package and 19" wheels. Same with the A5/S5. There was a lot of early demand, and a lot of those guys were waiting for a year too.

In the end, it comes down to what you want. The manual A4 will be a great car. I have one on order myself. If you can wait, or the dealer can help with something in the interim, or if the dealer can get AoA involved to help with a earlier production slot, all will end well. Otherwise, the A5 or the BMW are both fantastic cars. Audi is becoming the 'hot' brand right now, and you have to decide if you can wait for the car to get here.
