Default Does anyone have any experience with Audi's compact roof box?

Or any other roof boxes for that matter? I see the Audi unit for ~$960, and I see the Thule units that range anywhere from ~$500-$800.
Any one have experiences: good, bad, or indifferent?
Application is for an '09 Avant.
Many thanks,
pino

I bought the roof box about a week after I picked up my A4 and it has been great on trips. You will need the roof bars which are separate to mount the box on. It is very roomy and seems tough enough to take a beating. It is well designed and has 2 keys with it. You can get it on and off your self in about 15-20 minutes.

Thanks! Seems that you are pleased with it.
If I may ask a couple of questions:
Does it open from either side?
Does it seem like a Thule unit? (I am told this is who makes it, but it could be bad information)
Any obtrusive wind noise?

Thanks for you time!

yes it does open freom either side. It may be a thule unit I can't really tell. No wind noise really noticable.

I have a 2009 avant with the factory bars and a new yakima skybox 16 and it fits great. Don't waist the extra $400 dollars for the Audi Box. I always buy Audi acccessories but their box is not worth the extra cash.

Thanks for the alternative!
I was thinking of the Thule Boxter or Spirit.
The Skybox you mention is very nicely priced as well.
