I can definately feel the difference, but this weekend I will log and plot engine torque, boost pressure, and 30-100MPH times in third gear both with modified and with stock programming, not on a dyno, but on the real road.

I believe that Vag Com logging of 30-MPH acceleration times in third gear will be very telling, also it should be extremely precise given that it will be coming straight from the ECU.

By switching between the two modes it will give me a true objective comparison. In the end if the acceleration times don't change nothing else really matters to me.

This is what I'm really waiting for. I asked APR for a boost pressure plot vs. stock and got no response. Excellent customer service over there .

Thanks a lot for sharing the results.

Yes, if you switch to a higher octane program, you have to fuel up with that gas. If you get stuck somewhere with lower octane, you should switch your tune accordingly.

I APR'd 8 months ago. Feel obviously quicker and smoother. Hard to switch back to stock mode.

Are there different APR chips?

It's software only... but with different tuning options for your stock ecu. I had mine done several weeks ago with the 93 octane tune. The tuner "claimed" that I could still run 91 octane with no harm... not that I plan to.

Nice bump up in performance

Default SCR Performance

Thanks!
I just found them from APR's website, where they were listed as a dealer. They really seemed to know what they were doing and I was very impressed with them overall.

Peter at SCR did my tune. It was the first one he had done on a 2010, so it took him longer than it will the next time around as the process is a little different than it was on earlier model years.

After doing mine he told me that the next time he does one it should take only an hour or so.

They did charge me one hour labor, which I think is quite fair. I suspect that most APR dealers will be doing this on the 2010's.

I would recommend them highly.

Thanks for the great info - I'm looking forward to your test numbers. I'm planing on having my 2010 done after the 5,000 mile check-up in a couple of months.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Stage 1 (including the 1 hour of labor).

If you wouldn't mind, I like to know your cost as well....

I'm going to guess and I bet I'm pretty close. As of 1/26 the current promotion is $599 for the ECU upgrade which includes all the programs (APTuning https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...30&postcount=1). It's probably safe to assume that if APTuning is offering this pricing APR's other dealers are as well though I can't confirm this via APR's website. My guess is that labor is no more than $100/hour so at the most you're looking at $699 + tax.
