Hear AND Feel a thump when I turn left
This may or may not be a known problem, but I figure if anyone can offer some guidance it'd be you guys.
So, when I turn left, either from a full stop or slow speeds, I can hear and feel a thump/clunk in the steering wheel. And, to top it off, this only happens after I've been driving around for a bit...the sound is non-existent in the mornings after it's been resting for the entire night.
Has anyone experienced this before? and if so, what have you tried to resolve it?
Thanks in advance.
Bottom line is I had the same exact issue and it turned out to be an improperly torqued engine/chassis bolt.
Have your dealer check all the bolts in the front for proper torque. Did the trick for me.
No, I know, it's an odd issue...I've tried to get it checked out a couple of times at the dealer and then my mechanic, but both times they weren't able to replicate the noise, so they couldn't properly diagnose the issue.
I'll see if I can post a video this week.
I've heard theories from control arms, bolts, and CV joints, but no one seems to have a definite answer.
Same thunk, at same low speed, at same accelerating into a turn from a stop.
Have your tech check the chassis/engine mount bolts for proper torque. It took my service guy a couple of visits to figure it out. He found it by checking each bolt.
