If you're going to do something like that, you should have the service documents that show you how to do it and the necessary supporting information like bolt torques. erwin.audiusa.com. It's in the electrical equipment document, but you'll also need the engine mechanical and relevant transmission documents. Glancing over the process, it seems simple enough, but you have to remove the right engine mount bracket/support (the part that bolts to the block) to get to the starter. So you'll need an engine support brace. The service manual does suck in that it never talks about how to remove the right engine mount or engine mount bracket, only the left side. But there is a picture of it in the turbo removal process. And in that picture, it looks like that might be the starter drawn underneath it sticking out to the left (rearward) side of the picture.
