Insurance paid?

[QUOTE=NJRoadFan;23843344]Not always.... I somehow only pay $94/mo for the A4 and its far from bare bones coverage. Chump change considering I have an at-fault accident on my record. It also helps that the A4 is dirt cheap to insure compared to other new cars.

I think my premium is $1000/annually on a 2009 A4.
Check out AAA Motorclub (www.aaa.com insurance) in your area. We have 2 policies with them home owners, and our auto policies. They give you something like a 2%/yr discount if you sign up for their AAA auto club (flat tire/tow service etc) ... and the 2% discount is just enough to pay the yearly fee on the auto club.
Also look into Renters Insurance. If it's affordable, it may be a good idea to insure your stuff where ever you live.. since your building insurance won't cover your stuff if the building burns down.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I live in Illinois, and think appr 1400 $ / year is where I will end up (some have quoted over 2000 $ / year).I didn't think about the after 6 months discount, so I'll be asking for that. Thanks again to all of you.

As others have said, shop around - your numbers don't sound unreasonable, but a savings might be had with some research.
One thing you can do to lower your rate is take a "safe driver" course. Check with an insurance rep or two to ensure that they recognize this and discount it. Mine gave me about 12% off the comprehensive portion which isn't too bad. Here's the course I took online - only takes a few hours at most: http://www.nscddconline.com/ (no relation - just a happy enough customer).

I called progressive the other day to get a quote, in order to compare the difference in cost between my current 2004 Acura TSX and a 2010 A4 2.0T Quattro... I currently pay $123/mo. The rate with the A4 would be $129.
