I'm looking to get my hands on a cable that has a 3.5mm audio connection on the end where the IPOD connection current resides. The current audi cable enables you to play music from your ipod directly to through the car audio system. I'm looking for the same cable but with a 3.5mm connection on the end instead of the ipod connector. Does anyone know if these are made and where I could get my hands on one. I have a large store of music on my phone which cannot be transferred to my ipod and the only way of playing it would be to connect the phone through the audio jack or through the charging intercae (same connection as the one you would change a blackberry or Amazon kindle). I've seen posts from audi mentioning that "other" connectors are currently being considered but nothing definitive.

Sure. Audi does list it as an accessory and they appear on eBay regularly. I replaced the iPod connector that came in my car with a USB cable as I use portable HD for music.

Audi didn't have it. I had to order the part from GROM Audio in the end . Just hope it works as advertized.

FYI - a replacement cable that goes from the AMI to either 3.5mm end or even a USB plug can be had on EBay for rather cheap.

Good news I just discovered that iPhone 4S streams all types of music including Pandora and Youtube directly trough AMI cable, no need to use 3.5mm cable.
