Default Micrometallic Inlays Credit?

I was looking at an available A4 (online). The options included something called "Micrometallic Inlays Credit" which was a credit of $400. What is this??

The car I picked up Monday had that. They changed the aluminum inlay on the dash and door panels for some reason.

OK. Is the inlay different now? Do you have any good pics of it? It used to have a nice pattern to it.

Thanks.

What's not clear to me is what is the trim if the car has the inlay credit? You have the S-Line which maybe different.

I'm not sure what the micrometallic trim looks like, but I read that Audi is having a problem with the supplier of the aluminum trim, so it must be the replacement. Similarly, S4 owners are being given a credit for accepting the carbon fiber trim instead of the aluminum.

It's just brushed aluminum instead of having a pattern to it.

Wasn't the brushed aluminum was standard in '09... or was that just on S-Line trim? My Avant has brushed stainless with piano black center as standard. I'm looking at the window sticker and it's not noted anywhere. (I think it looks nicer than the wood options Audi offers.) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though.. The '11 S4 that I had as a loaner recently had the carbon fiber trim. I am not usually a fan of carbon fiber where it doesn't offer a functional improvement but the quality of the carbon fiber trim pieces is exceptional. Why give a $400 credit for an S4 trimmed in 5MK that was ordered with 5MZ? The price difference during build spec is $250 per the build spec sheet I am looking at as I consider an S4 for the wife.

Can someone post a photo of this micrometallic finish? I hope it's not the VW trim that I had in my GLI...that was hideous.

The micrometallic inlays are the same trim you see in front of the driver seat, around the speedometer etc. It is actually pretty nice. Flows nicely throughout the car now.
