Default MMI Hidden Menu

I can't access my hidden menu.

I've pressed the Car + Setup buttons & nothing happens.

I also can't check my oil level due to the option not being on my car setup list.

Did you use VCDS Vag-Com or other VAG tool to enable access to the hidden menu?

Read up on Ross-Tech Vag-com diagnostic system (VCDS) which you can use to reprogram various items in your car. You use this to enable the hidden menu. You can also use other similar programs like Carista to do it. Be sure to read up before you fiddle around in there too much.

If you have a B8, I believe that the oil level read out via MMI is standard and needs no activation. If you have see the oil level menu (after pressing the CAR button) but no information is displayed it could be that you need to wait a couple of days after the hood has been opened. Try the sequence from the manual; warm engine, park level, ignition off, wait 2 minutes, ignition ON.

Michael, what country is the subject car located in?

Audi8k is correct, in the USA the oil level display is a standard feature - - no activation or tinkering required.

You cannot get to the hidden menu unless you get one of those tools to activate it. Google "Ross-Tech", "OBDEleven" or "Carista".
