need help. 2009 B8 cannot idle
hi,
wondering if anyone have encountered the same problem as mine.
my b8 has been sitting duck for almost 3 weeks. the problem occur while i was driving when all of a sudden the gas pedal felt nothing when i pressed. thankfully i manage to steer the car to the side of the road.
the symptoms that my mechanic says is like immobilizer cut-off. the car cannot idle for more than 10 seconds. even when press the gas pedal, it felt nothing and no revving at all. its shows no sign of fault code when diagnose and also there seems to have no mechanical failure. even the immobilizer have been check and all is OK.
among the things that has been check include valve, gearbox, timing chains, primary fuel pump, vacuum, immobilizer, throttle body and pedal sensor. the secondary pedal will be check tomorrow by swapping with a new one, while also waiting for ecu to be check.
if anyone here can assist or have face similar problems, please help. really miss my b8. this is the first time its giving me headaches after 3 years. just to share, my engine is 2.0 cvt non quattro and has been flashed with DNA tuning stage 1 2 years ago.
thanking in advance.

I have a 2010 B8 Quattro and it's had the same problem for about a month. My dealership told me they beleive the MAF sensor needs to be replaced. I'm replacing the MAF sensor next week. Please let me know if you find a solution I can try just in case this doesn't work.

You might want to have the trans checked. I bought a pre-owned B8 3.2 that had a similar issue. The dealership said their was a broken strainer in the trans that would make the go into "limp in" mode which was intended to allow you to pull the car over and protect whatever system was acting up from further damage. The car would sputter and stall, especially in reverse with no pressure on the gas pedal.

after 1 month, im picking up my car tomorrow.
the problem that we found is the ECU. after we re-flash the ecu back to its original, the car is now running like normal.
the question is after 2 years of running the car with DNA Tuning stage 1, why only now its giving problems?
