Are you suggesting the 'replica' wheels are weaker and not up to the task of holding up in inclement weather?

I'm confused.

It would be odd to me if people were mounting snow tires on high dollar upscale OEM rims instead.

High dollar? I picked up a set of OEM wheels for our Q5 for under $400 and they had under 50 miles on them. I've seen countless near new OEM A4 wheels go for the same.

...and yes there are countless threads/posts on every forum about replica quality or lack there of.

Guys, isn't OP going to have an issue with the center bore size on the newest cars?

Bottom line: old wheels are not going to work, they won't fit. I think OP is going to have to order a fresh set of 17" wheels from TR or wherever to overcome this.

(I'm getting ready to order a 2011 car and am just discovering this )

J/K - Congrats on the new car, great color! I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+ purchased through Tirevan.com.
They are very good tires in the rain, slush & snow.

Don't forget to throw up pics after you get home from taking delivery.
I've got a 2010 S-Line and I'm running the same tire/wheel combo. I agree they're very good in rain/slush/snow - they've been on since Nov '09 when I got the car and even through snowmageddon and this past round of snow storms, they've been great.

I got mine at Mr. Tire in Springfield off of Backlick Rd. Exceptional service, and they pricematched Tirerack.

Hmmm...so the 2011 has a different hub bore? I assume it's the same on all B8's? What is it, ad nwhat's the hub bore of the older wheels?

Somebody else will have to answer on when the change took place...it could be all B8 cars.

I guess the center bore is now 66.6mm

the old value was 57.1mm meaning none of the earlier wheels are going to fit.

Thanks for the info. I will make sure they fit and have at least a 66.1 hub bore.

I said upscale ergo RS4. Please link to a set of cheap OEM RS4 rims. I may be interested in getting them for myself.
