Default New Varta Battery Where is the BEM Code?

Hello Everyone,

Helping another fellow B8 Audier and he just got a new battery from the dealer. A Varta but I can't find anything on it to help me code it to his car. Attached are some photos.

So I viewed the current BEM code in VCDS under 19-CAN Gateway _> Long Adaptation -> Channel 4 -> Battery identification).

Would switching the last number of my BEM code make the computer think that I installed a new battery?

Yes.

Did you replace it with the exact same battery (same part number)?

I just went to the dealer and that's the one they said was for my car. Here's a pic of my old battery:

Not sure, but I think my old one was acid and the new one I bought is gel?

I don't think Audi is doing gel batteries. They are doing AGM and "AGM" is clearly printed on the top of the battery when applicable.

If you don't see AGM, it's flooded lead-acid design.

Tchun, the part number you show is an AGM battery:

(Any way you can say what country you are in and what kind of car, model year you are working on?)

It's for my 2009 a4 2.0t avant. I guess the b8 avants have different batteries than the sedans. I'm located in the United States. Also that's correct, my new battery is ATM amd my old battery was lead acid. I wonder why the dealer sold me an AGM when they looked up the battery with my vin.

I sure wouldn't complain about that. They may be transitioning to AGM for everyone.

Will I still be able to just change 1 number and be okay?
