Default Oil dipstick

2013 A4 with the 2.0T (Quattro if it matters) looking to find an oil dipstick for permanent addition for ease of checking the level.

I found this by accident while watching a maint. video:

Audi B8/B8.5 A4 Quattro 2.0T Search SiteSearch oil dipstick - 018641ECS02-02 - Billet Engine oil Dipstick - black Anodized (ecstuning.com)

I mean, it's cool and all but really would prefer one of the bright yellow/orange "stock" type that (for instance) the wife could open the hood and be blatantly obvious as to what and what it was. I understand that one of the VW sticks can be used but that the hashmarks are off one way or the other as far as oil level. Being correctly graduated would be a plus. I guess I could paint the one above....but less than $60 would be good as well.

Any options?

The B8 A4 uses a longitudinal mounted Gen2 2.0T. The 06J stick works fine, but you likely have to cut the loop down for it to fit considering it's location relative to the hood in the different mounting. But it wasn't $60 either when I bought mine. https://www.genuineaudiparts.com/oem...ick-06j115611l $42 is still a lot for what it is. Make sure you know it twists to release/secure so you don't break the locking tabs.

I don't own the 06K one so I have no idea if it's any different regarding markings. It should not match up based on the T40178 numbers.

^ Yeah, if I am going to have to modify it/cut it, I might as well buy the fancy billet one.

I wish I could recall where I saw it, been looking at a lot the past few days, but someone is making one with a short orange plastic handle as I have seen it in a couple of pics. Have no idea who makes those or what they cost. I might just have to clean the billet one and plasti-dip the handle side....Then it could have cost me $85 instead...duhlol

I have 06J-115-611-L that I leave in a plastic tube in the trunk; got this when we had our '09 A4q with the CAEB engine years ago. Since the CAED is equivalent, the reading is similar; full is above the hash area, landing around the 'M' in "MAX". In our '14 A4q, the OE dipstick handle doesn't appear to interfere with the hood liner when the hood is closed & latched, so it may work out for you just fine.

I also have AU40178 that we leave hanging in the garage (also in a plastic tube) for occasional calibrated level readings, available here: https://jmcautomotiveequipment.com/a...-oil-dipstick/
An equivalent on Amazon:
