Default Either 255 or 265 is the right tire width for B8s.

235 is way under sized as the standard size of my tires were 245/40-18. 235/35-19 with ET 35 is the perfect setup for B7, I believe you were referring to B7. The offset was suggested by HRE and the weight of the HRE should be lighter than my stock wheels. Thanks for your opinions though.

Default i usually hate bodykits, but that looks really good. congrats.

It's too bad about the wheel offset - HRE should have given you a setup that would never rub. I'd talk to them about replacing the wheels with a set that doesn't rub. Anything less than a perfect fit is outrageous given the price.

Default Did you try fender work?...

Rolling the fenders nice and tight might help out. Otherwise, it's pretty common to machine the offset higher by a few mm. If you don't have a competent shop in HK, HRE should do it since they gave you the wrong offset for your car. I know they mentioned it was a possibility when I ordered mine. Luckily, I have a shop that can do it if mine don't fit right.

Default Yes....you are correct.......

I was thinking about the B7. I actually tried to find the size of the B8 and couldn't so I wrongly assumed that it was the same as the B7. My apologies. From you pics, it almost looks like you need something like about a 40mm offset providing that it would clear the inner suspension components.

The HRE's are light but not so light as you may think. The 19x9.5 for the RS4 is 23lbs. I would imagine that the 20x9 is in the vicinity of about 25lbs.

Your 255/30/20 is increasing rolling diameter by 8mm. That should be okay, with the ride height raised 6-7mm and the wheel tucked in 6-7 mm. I still say you should go with a 255/35/19 on a 19x8.5" wheel to really make sure things fit well, don't rub, and give you the best weight advantage.

Great looking wheel though. Can't argue with that.

Very nice, but...How do you feel about the 3.2 vs 2.0T Chipped. I have the 2.0T w/APR 93 and am very hesitant about going with the 3.2, something about mashing the pedal in 3rd gear. BTW, the white on black is a very nice setup. Cheers :^D

Default Re: Pictures after lowered.

First of all, the torque of 3.2 is no match for 2.0T chipped (B7). I always have to work the rev out to get the right amount of torque. But the B8 Tiptronic seems to be much smarter than the B7's so it can always keep me in the right rev range (80% of the time). Horsepower wise, 3.2 feels much stronger on the upper rev band and the 2.0T always seems like there is lack of power after the torque plateau. Also, the I4 turbo can't match the smoothness of the V6 by any chance. Fuel consumption of the 3.2 is about 5-10% worse than my chipped B7 2.0T. If you are used to the engine characteristics of the B7 2.0T, I believe the new 2.0T should keep you more than happy. Just my opinion though. Your choice between smoothness of the V6 and huge torque of I4 Turbo.

I have now raised the car for about 7mm and will shave the rear wheel hubs today to increase the offset by couple mms and hopefully it won't rub anymore.
