Default Rear Diffuser differences?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/157116/img_0030.jpg"></center><p>Are there different diffusers? I thought they were solid?
Since I'm on this topic, can it be changed for dual exhaust?
Thanks to ToeCutter for the picture!

That's an S-line diffuser. Different from stock, AFAIK.

Default Yes, many differences...

Toecutter's is S Line, which has the faux mesh in the center.

2.0T Sedan - solid with a single exhaust, dual tip outlet on driver side
3.2 Sedan, 2.0T Avant - solid with dual exhaust, single tip outlets on both sides
2.0T S Line Sedan - faux mesh center with single exhaust, dual tip outlet on driver side
3.2 S Line Sedan, 2.0T S Line Avant - faux mesh center with dial exhaust, single tip outlets on both sides
S4 - solid with dual exhaust, dual tip outlets on both sides

S Line diffusers are not compatible with non S Line bumpers, and vice-versa. S4 diffuser is rumored to be compatible with S Line bumpers. Hope this helps.

Default Interesting... never realized that the Avant, regardless of engine, has dual exhaust.

I really do like the look of dual exhaust better. Looks much more athletic in my opinion. I always liked this on the B6s.

Default Thanks Blake! Great Response.

I guess my hope is that the aftermarket crowd will come up with a dual exhaust diffuser for the 2.0T non-S-line.

Do you just want a more aggressive look?

Default Like it as well...

Makes my avant look more aggressive. Read that it's for noise reduction audi took into consideration in avant cabin. Single one sided is louder but is muffled more with the trunk of the sedan vs no trunk in the avant.

I have a B6 1.8T and love the dual exhaust. I like the look with the mesh on the B8 but I guess I would just like the option of dual exhaust. It's not a deal killer though.

Default It's regardless of engine in the US but over here not all avants get one each side

i.e

1.8T, 2.0TDI, 2.7TDI are dual pipes on the left

The phrase they use here is :

"Exhaust pipes - 4-cylinder models have two exhaust pipes on the left hand side. 6-cylinder models and the 2.0 TFSI Avant model have one exhaust pipe on each side"
