Replacing and coding new battery
Should I worry about it? what happen if you don't code it?
Maybe soon I will need new battery but I haven't test if I need one or not yet. Should I code it? if so, what tools do I need to get? I heard abd11? can someone link me what kind and maybe instruction how to code it?
You need a suitable scan tool to perform and adaptation. VCDS by Ross-Tech (requires one of their interface cables) can do it. So can OBDeleven by VoltasIT (requires one of their Bluetooth devices), but only with the PRO subscription. Autel units can do it, but you'd have to check which units can do it.
There's a lot of information already out there about performing the adaptation. Including a whole youtube video by Ross-Tech. As long as you installed a battery of the same type (wet flood vs AGM) and size (H7 vs H8 vs H9), then the complications are minimal. The real issue is people changing the battery type and not "coding" in the change. Now the car is recharging the battery incorrectly.
