Interestingly, I called my local dealer and they said that the fix had most likely already been applied (bought my car in December 2010). I'm taking it in on Saturday and will post back with the results.

Well - I took the car in this past weekend. On the ride with the technician I couldn't get the car to shift roughly, of course. In any case, that turned out not to matter since when we went back to the dealership there was a software update to fix the transmission issue. After picking the car up, I can report that it works 100% better now. It shifts smooth as silk and actually seems to be more responsive when starting from a full stop.

I'm glad they have fixed your car. It would be nice to hear that some effort was put into the 6 speed tip for some of us that are still experiencing this.

My car feels like it is always engine braking when I let off the gas and when I get back on the throttle is sluggish unless I step into it. The adaptation reset hasn't made things better just different. My steering and suspension action are very tight as well but I don't know if this is related but I have it checked out twice now but they can't find anything wrong.
