Default Seen/sat in the new A4

One of the dealerships outside of Toronto held the ALMS event (so Dindo and Emanuele along with the R10 were there as the ALMS is at Mosport this weekend, can't wait!) and the new A4 was there also.

Sat in it, even the standard seats are so much better than the seats we have in the B7. Layout is just like the S5 I test drove, or very similar. Liked the placement of things, the trim pieces didn't feel too excessive for me. Dual exhaust on the left side only on the 2.0T. No S-line package, and the front bumper looks pretty aggressive already. LED lights looks awesome. The side view of the rear tail, the shape really reminds me of the B5 A4, something that I never noticed before, even a few others that were there said the same exact thing. Open the trunk and the rear corner lights really looks similar also the the B5's, but of course different when the trunk is closed.

Overall, fairly impressed with the car, now when can I test drive this car. The diesel will arrive next year but no word on exactly when.

Had a chat with one of the guys that works there but on the VW side. They can't meet the demand of the new VW Jetta TDIs since it's been a few years here in Canada where there hasn't been a TDI. Seems that VW Canada underestimated the demand for the diesel here, and suspect it'll be the same for Audi also once it comes out here, though a 2.0TDI would really be attractive.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tanm/sets/72157606861337278/</a

Did they have firm info on TDI A4s or was that a guess from the staff?

Default Similar for us here north of the border

Q7 will have it first, A4 will follow later.

That's what I've read too. V6 TDI's gonna be a sweet engine for sure.

Default Had a brief chat with one of the salesperson from the VW side last night...

It seems that VW Canada may have underestimated the demand for the TDI. Given that the TDI has been on a two year hiatus here in Canada, they have a lot of customers ordering the new Jetta TDI already and it's not due to arrive for another month and a lot will have theirs delivered next spring. Wondering whether Audi will experience the same thing.

Default Not yet

Dealers are going to get them on September 3rd. Pricing will be announced before then, according to Audi of Mississauga.

I suspect, take the similarly equipped B7, add $700-$1000CDN to it and you got the B8 pricing.

Default The VW TDI's don't stay on the lot here. Hard to judge TDI upscale buyers here.

Im sure Audi did a demographics.

Default It's like Porsche drivers...

Once a Porsche driver, always a Porsche driver... well there are exceptions of course.

The VW TDI crowd seems to be like that also, once you've owned a TDI you'll always seem to have one in the family down the road.
