Default Vag Com Mods

Quick question about vag-com and those types of mods. I have seen that we can personalize our cars via vag-com and even "unlock features" like the lap timer in the DIS. For those of us who think $300 is a bit much for a vag-com - does anyone know if dealers will initiate overrides for us like stopping the LED wink, enabling lap timer etc.? I'm taking my car in for its 5000 mile in about a week so I wanted to hear your experiences with dealers performing these types of mods. Thanks!

Edit for clarity: I want the dealer to perform personalization mods per my request such as 'no LED wink with blinkers'. Will dealers do it?

By default you'll lose it all but if you've got a nice friendly dealer and the work they're doing doesn't force them to take the settings from their computer system then it's not compulsory.

It depends - I've read some people who claim the dealer will apply a tweak while others won't. Just ask, even if they're hard-asses you won't get in any trouble for inquiring.

I've found the cable to be a worthwhile investment.

I have a Vag-Com I bought for my 2008 S5. I assume it will also work with a B8 A4. Where can I find more info on the mods available?

Happy New Year fellow Audi-ites,

A while back someone published the actual bit codes for changing options in VAG COM.

I am looking for the code to adjust the trip computer to be accurate instead of 2mpg high, and the code to have the LED DRL's stay on when the turn signals are on.

I thought there was a PDF document at some point but can't find it. If someone could point me to it here or via PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Anyone in the Phoenix Metro area willing to let someone borrow, or walk through installing some of these codes. Definitely willing to pay for your time and effort. Thanks!
