...And This is Why I Need a Dipstick...

The issue is more to be able to tell when the oil gets dark enough to warrant changing. THAT's the major issue.
I have no intention of letting the car go 10K on oil, however, one needs to verify that oil has in fact been changed when they claim it has....
..and Snagitseven you had me for about 5 seconds ... haha.

I debated back and forth for a bit; say something, don’t say something, comment, don’t comment. Well, I ended up deciding to say something. Hmmm, is it fair duping your fellow Audi members with a fictitious problem? I personally think it’s not such a good idea. Their time and efforts could be better served resolving actual real life car problems. Ya, you now say it was a joke and never thought it would be taken seriously, but it was. So, I guess the joke is on you!
I wonder how Chris@ECS and NJRoadFan feel being taken for a ride.

To help make up for my transgression:
I purchased the following dispstick part number for my 2009 A4 3.2:
06E 115 611 H (3.2 engine only)
Cost about $20 at the dealer and appears to work fine. Mirrors the MMI oil readout pretty closely (when I can get the readout to work). Less expensive if you order from http://www.genuineaudiparts.com.

I apologize. My intent was not to fool anyone but provide a bit of levity (which apparently backfired). Sorry if it ruffled anyone's feathers. I've always tried to be helpful as you could see from my many posts over the years. I'll use a "smiley" next time.

This was a new error for me, lol. I debated back and forth with the parts specialist about possible causes, etc. Essentially he said "screen shot or it didn't happen" because we couldn't figure out any possible way for the MMI to recognize a dipstick!
Well done sir... well done...
Next time you post "smoke coming out my exhaust" I'll be sure to recommend that you change your blinker fluid!

BTW, is there a dipstick for the blinker fluid?

Actually yes, here you go. It is really easy to DIY too, 5 minutes tops.

Hence the pic request. Some quick photoshop could have made it epic you know. Its bad enough Audi's SVN system resets all your modules to the defaults for your car when they plug it in at the dealer.

Jeez ! I thought you guys the other side of the pond had learnt about sarcasm by now!
Looks like many of you still don't get it.
FWIW I thought the modification post was quite funny.
