Do you know if it's possible to put, say Apple Maps, or Google Maps (iOS app version) onto the main screen (not the pop-up)?
Also, is the 6GB of data included monthly, or total?
Thanks.

The Smartphone interface only shows on the MMI screen, not the VC/DIS. You cannot use Google maps with CarPlay but you can use Apple maps.
6GB for WiFi clients is the total for either 6 months@$199 or 30 month@$750

Got 16.5 installed yesterday but while STG46 is visible now, nothing really points to the modules front or rear, no label files either yet, and several issues to update the HEX-NET with missing ASAM and ROD files, to be continued...

Lol, the curse of being a first responder. One other question I had, and I know this doesn't apply to you with traffic sign recognition. But my nav shows the gps speed limit only on the MMI and was wondering if there was a way to get it to show in the VC?

As far as I know no. TSR shows the detected/assumed speed limit in the VC/DIS, no TSR show the static speed limit stored in the nav data on the MMI, both are exclusive. If one would know one could try to enable TSR without having the TSR hardware installed and see what happens - that would require though to know how to enable TSR in the first place.

Well, the right tools make things easier. Even the newest VCDS 16.5[RC] with HEX-NET did not allow me to enable ACC default distance in the MMI. Got my VCP tool today and after a little surprise, it allowed me to make the change without any security code. Now it's time to figure out where the coding/adaptation for al the segments in the front/rear lights are.
